Below are some the specialty course offered at the Rhode Island Association of REALTORS®

#354 BEYOND ARCHITECTURE (3 CEH’s)
This course is designed to educate the real estate professional regarding issues of sustainable design principles and practice as they are related to existing and new construction of residential and commercial property.

#367 EFFECTIVE AND DYNAMIC COMMUNICATION (3 CEH’s)
This course is designed to help the real estate licensee to better understand how communication between individuals is created and how it develops.  Communication is a product of all our experiences, environment, etc.  The course will help the licensee have a better understanding of their customer/client by learning how to communicate with them in a deeper manner through understanding them and their many ways of communicating.

#368 GREEN BUILDING FUNDAMENTALS (3 CEH’s)
This course will explain to the students the benefits of green homes in order to help clients know the cost-benefits of green homes.  It will also describe green appliances and building materials as well as demonstrate how to guide a buyer through the process of evaluation green home features prior to purchase.

#369  E-BUYER (6 CEH’s)
The process of buying a home is changing as rapidly as technology.  REBAC’s 6-hour e-Buyer course is designed to provide students with the knowledge they need to apply the basic computer and internet skills they have already mastered t o meet the special demands of emerging online buyers.  Different generations are using technology in different ways yet all have similar expectations, so this course also examines the importance of tailoring high-tech communication tools and strategies.

#370  SHORT SALES IN TODAY’S MARKET  (3 CEH’s)
This course will introduce the students to the concept of short sales and to walk them through the process of a short sale.  It also instructs the students in how to prepare their seller (or buyer) for a short sale and how the real estate salesperson can better assist both their buyers and sellers in this process.  Many of the documents needed for the short sale will also be explained.

#371 AN INTRODUCTION TO SOCIAL NETWORKING (3 CEH’s)
This course is designed to instruct and lead the students through the many new social networking sites such as Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, Activerain, MySpace, and Plaxo.  Each site will be visited and the many ways of maneuvering will be explained.  Also, the students will be shown how to utilize the sites for their individual business purposes.

#372 HOW TO AVOID A RENOVATION HORROR (3 CEH’s)
This 3-hour Continuing Education course will inform the students of the many pitfalls that renovation properties can present to buyers and sellers alike.  It will also point out how to avoid these situations and how they can be best remedied.  That also includes searching for a reputable contractor to assist in the renovation project.
